NZMN2-S160

Description

EATON NZMN2-S160

Overview

EATON NZMN2-S160 is a molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) from the Eaton Moeller NZM2 frame series. This 160 A thermomagnetic circuit breaker is built for general industrial low-voltage distribution protection, widely supplied as exchange spare for MCC panels, main switchboards, machine control cabinets and feeder circuit overhaul and replacement.

Features

EATON NZMN2-S160 combines bimetallic thermal overload protection and instantaneous magnetic short-circuit release. The thermal element provides inverse-time overload protection for cables and downstream loads, while the magnetic trip delivers fast clearing for high-magnitude short-circuit faults. A wide range of optional accessories can be fitted, including auxiliary contacts, alarm contacts, shunt trip, undervoltage release, rotary handle and motor operator for remote tripping and door interlock operation.

EATON NZMN2-S160 uses front screw terminals as standard; rear busbar terminals and plug-in adapters are available for flexible switchgear layout. The front operating handle provides clear ON/OFF/TR mechanical position indication for fast on-site status check. It supports selective coordination with upstream and downstream protective devices and complies with IEC 60947-2 and global EMC immunity requirements for indoor switchroom installation.

Specs

EATON NZMN2-S160Platform: Eaton Moeller NZM series Frame size: NZM2 Type: thermomagnetic MCCB Catalog number: NZMN2-S160 Rated current In: 160 A Rated operational voltage Ue: up to 690 VAC Standard poles: 3-pole Trip unit: thermal-magnetic Mounting: fixed mounting inside switchgear cabinet Protection rating: IP20 (circuit breaker body) This is a complete molded case circuit breaker, not a contactor, overload relay or soft starter. EATON NZMN2-S160 is widely supplied as service replacement spare for feeder protection circuit failure.

Principle

EATON NZMN2-S160 carries load current through internal bimetallic strip and magnetic coil. Under sustained overload, accumulated heat deforms the bimetallic strip and triggers mechanical trip with inverse time delay. When short-circuit current occurs, the magnetic coil generates instant electromagnetic force to release the trip latch and separate the main contacts rapidly. After tripping, the handle locks in the TRIP position and requires manual reset before re-closing.

Applications

EATON NZMN2-S160 is deployed for factory distribution feeders, MCC outgoing circuits, machine main power inlet protection and commercial building power panels. It is selected for spare inventory and switchgear retrofit projects for existing Eaton NZM2 low-voltage distribution systems.
