SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC IMD-IM10
Description
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC IMD-IM10
Overview
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC IMD-IM10 is the Vigilohm IM10 insulation monitoring device (IMD) for Schneider IT ungrounded low-voltage power networks. It continuously measures insulation resistance for AC, DC and mixed AC/DC systems, and triggers alarm output when insulation degrades below preset threshold. It is widely supplied as exchange spare for substation, marine, hospital, mining and uninterrupted process power cabinet overhaul and replacement.
Features
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC IMD-IM10 adopts low-frequency injection measurement principle, which maintains stable detection performance even on networks with VFD rectifiers and capacitive loads. It integrates a front LCD screen and operation keys to display real insulation resistance value, adjust pre-alarm and fault alarm thresholds, and set alarm delay time locally. It supports automatic self-test cycle and manual trigger test function to verify the monitoring circuit integrity.
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC IMD-IM10 is equipped with dry relay alarm output contacts for sending fault signals to PLC, BMS and local annunciator panels. It can be used for medium-sized IT networks, and it does not support leakage capacitance measurement and Modbus communication functions (these functions belong to IMD-IM20 variant). It complies with IEC 61557-8 insulation monitoring standard and EMC immunity requirements for power room environments, with IP20 protection rating for DIN rail cabinet mounting.
Specs
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC IMD-IM10Platform: Schneider Vigilohm series Type: IT network insulation monitoring device Order code: IMD-IM10 Auxiliary supply: 110–415 VAC Monitored network: AC up to 600V, DC up to 345V Measuring range: 0.1 kΩ ~ 10 MΩ Alarm threshold: 0.5 kΩ ~ 500 kΩ adjustable Output: relay alarm contact Mounting: DIN TH35 rail Protection rating: IP20 This is not a circuit breaker or relay protection unit; it is the dedicated insulation fault monitoring module for ungrounded IT systems. SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC IMD-IM10 is widely supplied as service replacement spare for IT power system insulation supervision failure.
Principle
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC IMD-IM10 injects low-frequency test voltage between the monitored network and earth, calculates insulation resistance value by sampling the return current. When the insulation resistance falls below the set alarm threshold, the internal logic drives the relay contact to output alarm signal. The device runs periodic self-check to confirm internal circuit health. After the insulation fault is cleared, the alarm can automatically reset according to configuration. It provides continuous supervision to avoid sudden earth short-circuit shutdown for IT power supply.
Applications
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC IMD-IM10 is deployed for marine on-board power distribution, hospital isolated power panels, mining underground power systems and industrial critical IT supply circuits. It is selected for spare inventory and cabinet retrofit projects for existing Vigilohm insulation monitoring systems.
