ABB ICMK14F1-M
Description
ABB ICMK14F1-M
Overview
ABB ICMK14F1-M is a distributed remote I/O unit for the ABB Procontic AC31-50 system, belonging to the same ICMK14F1 series as the ICMK14F1-K10.0 variant. The suffix M denotes a different firmware and terminal configuration variant for switchgear automation. This legacy discrete I/O station is widely supplied as exchange spare for medium and low voltage switchroom, substation and power distribution control cabinet overhaul.
Features
ABB ICMK14F1-M is equipped with 8 digital input channels and 6 relay output channels for collecting breaker auxiliary contact status, isolator position signals and executing remote trip, close and alarm output commands. It communicates with the AC31 master controller over the dedicated CS31 system bus, featuring strong noise immunity for power room environments. ABB ICMK14F1-M has front-mounted LED indicators for power supply, bus communication status and individual channel state, supporting fast on-site inspection and fault diagnosis. The relay outputs are dry contact type, isolated from the internal bus, suitable for interlock and alarm circuits. It supports watchdog supervision and transmits channel fault and communication failure diagnostics back to the AC31 host controller. Configuration, signal mapping and fault history reading are completed by ABB AC31GRAF engineering software. It complies with CE and EMC standards, IP20 protection rating for indoor DIN rail cabinet mounting.
Specs
ABB ICMK14F1-MPlatform: ABB Procontic AC31-50 Type: distributed remote discrete I/O unit Channel allocation: 8 DI, 6 relay DO Communication bus: CS31 system bus Supply voltage: 24 VDC Mounting: DIN TH35 rail Protection rating: IP20 This is not a CPU module or protection relay; it is a field I/O station for switchgear signal acquisition and remote control. ABB ICMK14F1-M is widely supplied as service replacement spare for breaker status feedback and remote control loop maintenance.
Principle
ABB ICMK14F1-M reads contact signals from circuit breakers, earthing switches and limit switches through digital inputs and transmits status frames to the AC31 master via CS31 bus. When the master sends remote operation commands, the module drives the corresponding relay contacts to activate external control circuits. The module continuously monitors bus heartbeat and output circuit integrity. If bus disconnection, power loss or output circuit anomaly is detected, it reports diagnostic flags and follows the predefined safe state reaction. All status changes and fault events are timestamped and stored in the master control system for review.
Applications
ABB ICMK14F1-M is deployed for incoming feeder switchgear, bus coupler panels, generator control and substation supervisory systems. It is selected for spare inventory and cabinet retrofit projects for existing ABB Procontic AC31-50 distributed I/O networks.
