ABB SACE Ekip Dip LSIG
Description
ABB SACE Ekip Dip LSIG
Overview
ABB Ekip Dip LSIG is a solid-state electronic trip unit for ABB SACE Emax2 / Tmax XT series air circuit breakers and molded case circuit breakers. The serial number 9CTA49G17450X031 is the unique serialized identifier of this specific unit, used for factory test traceability and service replacement record management. ABB Ekip Dip LSIG uses DIP switch setting mode instead of touchscreen operation, it is a cost-effective basic electronic release for low-voltage main and feeder protection, widely stocked as spare for LV distribution switchgear overhaul.
Features
ABB Ekip Dip LSIG provides four groups of protection functions defined by LSIG: L long-time overload protection, S short-time delayed short-circuit protection, I instantaneous short-circuit protection, G ground fault protection. All protection thresholds and time delays are adjusted via on-board DIP switches, no software or communication tool required for basic setting. ABB Ekip Dip LSIG embeds current sampling and signal processing circuits, and can record trip event information for fault analysis. It supports built-in self-diagnosis for internal circuit anomaly, CT loop fault and power supply abnormality, and outputs trip alarm signals through the breaker auxiliary contact system. ABB Ekip Dip LSIG is compactly installed inside the ACB or MCCB, matched with the breaker current sensor assembly. It does not support advanced metering, waveform capture or digital communication functions compared with Ekip Touch series, focusing on reliable fixed-setting protection duty. It conforms to IEC 60947-2 standard for low-voltage circuit breakers.
Specs
ABB Ekip Dip LSIG is compatible with selected frame sizes of Emax2 and Tmax XT breakers. The rated current In, protection adjustment range and ground fault range are determined by the specific model of this serialized unit. Power supply can be self-powered from CT current or auxiliary external power supply according to variant. Setting method: DIP switch hardware configuration. Protection type: LSIG four-function electronic release. ABB Ekip Dip LSIG is widely supplied as exchange spare for power distribution cabinet repair and breaker retrofitting.
Principle
ABB Ekip Dip LSIG continuously samples phase current and residual ground fault current from the current transformers integrated in the circuit breaker. The internal microprocessor calculates thermal accumulation for overload and judges fault magnitude against the DIP switch preset thresholds. When current exceeds the configured limit, the trip unit drives the breaker mechanical release mechanism to open the contacts and isolate the fault circuit. The trip status and fault information of ABB Ekip Dip LSIG are transmitted to the control and SCADA system via breaker auxiliary contacts for alarm logging and SOE. If hardware failure or CT disconnection is detected, the unit triggers a fault alarm and avoids unwanted mis-trip.
Applications
ABB Ekip Dip LSIG is used for incoming feeders, bus tie breakers and important motor/pump feeder protection in industrial plants, water treatment, marine switchboards and commercial low-voltage distribution systems. It is selected for spare inventory and breaker maintenance projects where simple, stable DIP-switch configurable LSIG protection is required, without the need for advanced communication and metering functions. It is the basic electronic protection core of ABB SACE low-voltage circuit breakers.
