ABB ICMK14F1-K10.0
Description
ABB ICMK14F1-K10.0
Overview
ABB ICMK14F1-K10.0 is a remote I/O unit for the ABB Procontic AC31-50 distributed control system, also widely known as a decentralized field station for low-voltage switchgear automation. The suffix K10.0 indicates the hardware and firmware variant. This legacy remote I/O module is commonly supplied as exchange spare for substation, power distribution cabinet and plant control retrofit projects.
Features
ABB ICMK14F1-K10.0 provides 8 digital inputs and 6 relay outputs for collecting breaker status, auxiliary contacts, position feedback and executing remote closing, tripping and alarm actuation. It communicates with the AC31-50 master controller over the dedicated system bus, supporting a communication distance up to 500 meters and stable transmission in electrically noisy power room environments. ABB ICMK14F1-K10.0 features front LED indicators for power, bus communication, channel status and fault diagnosis for fast on-site troubleshooting. The relay outputs are isolated contact type, suitable for driving external interlock circuits, alarm horns and auxiliary control loops. It supports watchdog supervision and channel fault reporting back to the master controller. Configuration, logic mapping and diagnostic reading are completed via ABB Procontic engineering software. It conforms to CE and EMC standards for indoor cabinet mounting with IP20 rating.
Specs
ABB ICMK14F1-K10.0 Platform: ABB Procontic AC31-50. Type: distributed remote I/O unit. I/O allocation: 8 DI, 6 relay outputs. Communication: AC31 system bus. Supply: 24 VDC. Mounting: DIN rail TH35. Enclosure rating: IP20. This is not a CPU or protection relay; it is a field remote I/O station for AC31-50 control network. ABB ICMK14F1-K10.0 is widely supplied as service replacement spare for switchgear signal acquisition and remote control loops.
Principle
ABB ICMK14F1-K10.0 picks up discrete status signals from circuit breakers, isolators and auxiliary switches via its digital inputs. It transmits these status frames to the AC31 master controller on the system bus. When the master issues remote control commands, the module energizes the corresponding relay contacts to operate external control circuits. The module continuously monitors bus heartbeat and channel integrity. If bus loss, power failure or output circuit anomaly is detected, it reports diagnostic flags and falls back to a predefined safe state. All status changes and fault events are timestamped and logged in the master control system.
Applications
ABB ICMK14F1-K10.0 is deployed for medium/low voltage switchgear, substation automation, bus tie control, generator synchronisation panels and factory power distribution supervisory systems. It is selected for spare inventory and cabinet retrofit projects for existing ABB Procontic AC31-50 control networks.
