Altus AL-3414

The AL-3414 is the redundant Modbus TCP Ethernet communication module for Altus AL-2000 series PLC rack, designed to work with AL-2004 CPU. This AL-3414 supports 10/100Base-TX Ethernet, runs ALNET II over TCP/IP and Modbus TCP (client/server simultaneously). Its core feature is network redundancy, two modules can be paired as a redundant group with one unified IP address for bumpless switchover when network or interface fails.

This AL-3414 uses shielded RJ45 port, supports multi-master PLC intercommunication, data exchange with SCADA, HMI, VFDs and third-party instruments. It can be installed together with AL-3405 / AL-3412 Ethernet cards in the same rack. Configuration, tag mapping and fault diagnosis are completed via MasterTool programming software. Front status LEDs indicate network link, run and fault alarm. It is hot-swappable in the AL-2000 backplane.

The AL-3414 is widely deployed in Brazilian refineries, power plants, Petrobras process control systems for redundant Ethernet communication of AL-2000 control racks. This legacy AL-2000 series module is discontinued by Altus. Most available AL-3414 units are tested surplus spare parts for DCS cabinet overhaul and emergency communication replacement. Compatibility with AL-2004 CPU firmware must be verified before spare swap.
