5. Installation and Wiring Instructions

5.1 Installation Requirements

  1. The module shall be vertically mounted on standard 35mm DIN rail inside the control cabinet.

  2. Reserve more than 20mm ventilation space around the module, do not block the heat dissipation gap.

  3. Keep away from frequency converters, large contactors and high-power equipment to reduce electromagnetic interference.

  4. Take anti-static measures before installation to avoid static electricity damaging internal circuits.

  5. Do not install in environment with corrosive gas, heavy dust, water dripping and condensation.

5.2 General Wiring Rules

  1. All wiring operations must be performed under complete power-off condition, only qualified electrical personnel can construct and maintain.

  2. Power supply circuit uses 1.5~2.5mm² copper wire; signal circuit uses 1.0~1.5mm² twisted pair wire.

  3. Analog signal and RS485 communication line must use shielded twisted pair cable.

  4. Terminal screws shall be tightened with torque of 0.8~1.0Nm to prevent poor contact and heating.

  5. High-voltage power lines and low-voltage signal lines shall be routed separately and not bundled together.

5.3 Terminal Definition

  1. Power terminals: 24VDC positive, 24VDC negative, protective earth PE

  2. Digital input terminals: Each channel signal input and public common terminal

  3. Relay output terminals: Each group relay NO, COM, NC contact

  4. Analog input terminals: Analog positive, analog negative and signal ground

  5. Communication terminals: RS485 A, RS485 B, signal ground

5.4 Wiring Notes

  1. The PE protective earth terminal must be reliably connected to the cabinet ground for safety and anti-interference.

  2. Digital dry contact input wiring should avoid long-distance parallel with power cables.

  3. Relay output is strictly prohibited to exceed rated voltage and current; inductive load must be equipped with absorption device.

  4. The shielding layer of shielded cable is only grounded at one end, no double-end grounding is allowed.

  5. It is forbidden to short-circuit the power input terminal, otherwise the internal circuit will be permanently damaged.

6. Operation and Parameter Configuration

6.1 Indicator Description

Power indicator: Steady on means power supply is normal
Run indicator: Flashing periodically means normal operation; always on/off means fault
Channel indicator: Light on corresponds to input or output channel action
Communication indicator: Flashing means Modbus data communication is normal

6.2 Configuration Steps

  1. Connect the module RS485 interface to PC via USB to RS485 converter.

  2. Open the supporting configuration software and establish communication connection.

  3. Set Modbus station address, baud rate, parity and other communication parameters.

  4. Configure analog signal type, sampling filter and range parameters.

  5. Set digital input logic definition and relay output interlock relation.

  6. Save parameters to the module, restart to make all settings take effect.

6.3 Normal Working Mode

After power-on, the module automatically completes self-check and initialization. All digital and analog channels collect field signals in real time, upload data to the upper controller through Modbus RTU. The relay output executes action according to host command or internal logic. The module runs continuously and self-monitors communication status and hardware failure in real time.

7. Safety Precautions

  1. There is electric shock risk in the circuit. All installation, wiring and maintenance must be operated in power-off state.

  2. It is forbidden to disassemble the module shell without authorization, which will void the warranty and cause electrical safety hazards.

  3. Do not apply overvoltage beyond the specified range to power supply and signal terminals.

  4. Prohibit use in ultra-high temperature, ultra-low temperature and strong vibration environment beyond specification limits.

  5. Avoid short-circuit of relay output contacts to prevent burning internal relay and circuit board.

  6. Residual charge remains inside the module after power off; do not touch the terminals immediately.

8. Daily Maintenance

  1. Regularly check whether the terminal wiring is loose, oxidized or discolored.

  2. Wipe the surface dust regularly with dry soft cloth; do not use liquid corrosive detergent.

  3. Observe the indicator status during daily operation to judge working state.

  4. Retighten all terminals every 12 months, and test each input and output channel one by one.

  5. Regularly check communication stability and analog signal accuracy, calibrate if deviation occurs.

9. Troubleshooting

  1. Power indicator not lit: 24VDC power supply abnormal, reverse wiring or internal fuse damaged.

  2. Run indicator abnormal: Internal program error, parameter confusion or hardware failure.

  3. Digital input no response: Wrong wiring, signal source damage or channel burnout.

  4. Relay output no action: Parameter configuration error, load short circuit or relay contact ablation.

  5. Analog signal inaccurate: Signal line interference, wrong signal type setting or line aging.

  6. Communication interruption: Wrong baud rate and address, A/B line reversed or cable broken.
