Description
GE GCCN400AS Product Description
Overview
GE GCCN400AS is a closing coil for GE low-voltage circuit breakers and contactor assemblies, widely used in GE power distribution switchgear and motor control centers. This excitation coil provides the electromagnetic force to drive the breaker closing mechanism. It is a legacy spare part for substation and industrial power panel maintenance.
Features
GE GCCN400AS is designed for AC excitation. It generates magnetic pull when energized to complete the closing action of the switching device. The coil adopts high-temperature resistant enameled wire and reinforced insulation structure, with excellent thermal stability and dielectric strength. It is built to withstand shock, vibration and electromagnetic interference in substation environments. It matches the corresponding GE breaker mechanism and can be quickly replaced during overhaul. It complies with IEC 60947 and relevant power industry standards.
Specs
Brand: GE Model: GCCN400AS Product category: Closing coil Application: LV breaker / contactor closing actuation Insulation class: High temperature grade Mounting: Installed inside switchgear mechanism Standard: IEC 60947 Lifecycle: Legacy spare part
Principle
GE GCCN400AS converts electrical energy into magnetic energy when powered on. The magnetic field pulls the armature of the breaker mechanism, which drives the main contact assembly to close. After the closing cycle is completed, the holding mechanism locks the breaker, and the coil does not need continuous power supply. When the trip command is triggered, the mechanical latch releases and the breaker opens.
Applications
GE GCCN400AS is applied in power distribution substations, factory main switchboards, MCC panels and power plant auxiliary machinery switchgear. It serves as a replacement spare part for breaker closing coil failure and periodic electrical maintenance.
