Principle

The ABB TMAX T5S 630A monitors circuit current continuously. For thermal-magnetic trip units, overload causes thermal deformation and short-circuit triggers instantaneous magnetic tripping. For electronic versions, current transformers sample signals and the trip unit calculates against preset thresholds. Once fault conditions are reached, the ABB TMAX T5S 630A actuates the operating mechanism to open contacts and isolate the faulty circuit.

Applications
