GE Speedtronic Mark VI
Description
GE Speedtronic Mark VI
The Mark VI is GE Vernova Speedtronic series triple modular redundant (TMR) turbine control system, designed for gas turbines, steam turbines, generator packages and mechanical drive units. This Mark VI integrates speed control, fuel control, sequencing, anti-surge, overspeed protection, alarm and condition monitoring all in one rack-based platform. It supports simplex and TMR triple redundant configuration, independent controller, power supply and I/O network for single-fault online replacement without tripping the turbine.
This Mark VI uses dedicated I/O modules including analog input, discrete I/O, LVDT servo control, RTD and thermocouple cards. The engineering software is ToolboxST, used for logic programming, parameter tuning, fault viewing, event sequence and waveform capture. CIMPLICITY serves as the standard HMI for operator monitoring and control. It communicates with plant DCS, historian and excitation systems via Ethernet or serial links. Conformal coated circuit boards are standard for power plant cabinet environments. The successor platform is Mark VIe, which adopts distributed Ethernet I/O architecture.
The Mark VI is widely deployed on GE heavy-duty gas turbines, steam turbines and combined cycle power plants. The classic Mark VI rack hardware is discontinued. Most available spare modules such as IS200 series cards are tested surplus parts for turbine control cabinet overhaul and emergency replacement.
