3500/32 4-Channel Relay Module (Bently Nevada)
Description
Model Interpretation
3500 stands for Bently Nevada 3500 series monitoring platform, /32 represents four-channel relay output module. Suffix options define terminal isolation and certification levels. Isolated version features galvanic separation between field circuit and internal rack bus; non-isolated type shares common reference potential. Available approvals include CSA, NRTL/C and ATEX Zone 2 certification.
Technical Parameters
Mechanical Index
Half-height single slot form factor compatible with standard 3500/05 rack structure. Overall dimension: 120.7mm × 25.4mm × 251.5mm, unit net weight around 0.35kg. Mountable at any vacant half-height slot position inside chassis.
Relay Contact Specification
Four isolated Form-C SPDT relay outputs per module. Rated switching capacity: 5A resistive load at 250VAC or 30VDC per channel. Each relay point is configurable as normally open or normally closed via software setup. Operate response time below 15ms, mechanical lifespan over 10 million switching cycles under rated load.
Electrical and Environmental
Module draws operating power directly from rack backplane with typical consumption of 2.8W. Operating ambient temperature spans 0°C to +65°C, storage range -40°C to +85°C. Relative working humidity 5%~95% non-condensing, meets IEC60068 vibration and shock criteria for industrial site deployment. Front panel equipped individual channel status LED plus global module healthy indicator.
Core Functions
Receive alarm and trip logic commands from internal rack bus of connected monitor cards. Configure each relay independently for alert or machine shutdown protection purpose via host configuration software. Isolated model prevents external field surge interference from affecting internal monitoring circuit. Support hot swap replacement under redundant rack power supply condition without system halt. Provide discrete dry contact signal to link with site DCS, PLC and local annunciator panel.
Applications
Installed on steam/gas turbine and generator monitoring racks for emergency trip control in power plants. Applied for compressor, large pump and blower safety interlock within oil, gas and petrochemical plants. Used for local audible/visual alarm output of critical rotating machinery in metallurgy and pulp & paper industries.
Usage & Maintenance
Insert module into available half-height slot and complete rear terminal wiring for external field control circuit. Set relay action logic, trip source and contact mode via official 3500 configuration software. Perform annual terminal tightness inspection and contact wear check during unit overhaul. Fanless construction requires zero routine consumable replacement, product is actively supported by Baker Hughes with full spare availability.
