Overview

METTLER TOLEDO IND560-HARSH is a rugged industrial weighing terminal of the IND560 series, built in a stainless steel harsh-enclosure version for washdown, sanitary and heavy-duty industrial environments. This terminal supports strain-gauge load cells or high-precision IDNet weighing bases and delivers weight measurement, formulation, filling, checkweighing and process control functions. It is end-of-life and widely supplied as OEM spare part for food, beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical weighing system retrofit and maintenance.

Features

METTLER TOLEDO IND560-HARSH adopts a 304L stainless steel enclosure with IP65 / IP69K protection rating, compliant with EHEDG and NSF sanitary standards for high-pressure washdown cleaning. It is equipped with a bright vacuum fluorescent display and 25-key tactile keypad for local operation, setpoint adjustment and fault diagnosis. It integrates TraxDSP™ digital filtering technology and achieves a fast A/D conversion rate of 366 Hz for stable weighing results under vibration. Multiple communication options are available including RS232/485, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, PROFIBUS, DeviceNet and 4–20 mA analog output for direct PLC integration. It supports up to 8 analog 350 Ω load cells and provides expandable digital I/O for automatic filling, batching and over/under checkweighing sequences. Optional approvals cover Division 2 and Zone 2/22 hazardous locations.

Principle

METTLER TOLEDO IND560-HARSH receives millivolt signals from load cells and converts raw sensor data into stable weight readings via internal DSP filtering and calibration algorithms. Operators can configure batch targets, tolerance thresholds and control logic on the local keypad. The terminal exchanges weight data, status flags and alarm signals with upper PLC or HMI systems through communication ports. It triggers digital output actions to control valves, feeders and actuators for automatic dosing and filling cycles. Built-in diagnostic routines detect load cell faults, loop errors and communication failures.
