OMRON F3S-B242P-D is a Type 2 safety light curtain from Omron legacy F3S-B series, consisting of emitter and receiver pair. Principle

OMRON F3S-B242P-D continuously transmits infrared beams from emitter to receiver. When an opaque object breaks any beam, the receiver detects signal loss and switches the PNP safety output state. The signal is sent to safety relay or safety controller to trigger emergency stop of the machine. OMRON F3S-B242P-D also accepts external test signal to verify the safety circuit integrity. When the obstruction is removed, the light curtain resumes beam reception and allows reset after safety condition confirmed.

Applications

OMRON F3S-B242P-D is used for hand protection guarding. It is commonly installed on stamping machines, injection molding machines, packaging machines, conveyor stations and automated assembly equipment.
