Overview

PEPPERL+FUCHS KFD2-RSH-1.2E.L3 is a 1-channel functional safety relay module of the Pepperl+Fuchs K-System isolation barrier family. PEPPERL+FUCHS KFD2-RSH-1.2E.L3 adopts ETS (energized-to-safe) logic, providing galvanic isolation between the safety control side and the 230V AC field load circuit. PEPPERL+FUCHS KFD2-RSH-1.2E.L3 is certified up to SIL 3 and widely used for safety interlock and valve actuation in process safety systems such as ESD and SIS.

Features

PEPPERL+FUCHS KFD2-RSH-1.2E.L3 supports line fault transparency (LFT) and continuous circuit diagnosis, detecting wire breakage or short-circuit faults on the field side. It has logic input range of 19–26.4V DC, matched with safety DO cards of DCS/ESD systems. The relay contact can switch loads up to 230V AC 5A, and it is suitable for AC solenoid valves and remote trip coils. Principle

PEPPERL+FUCHS KFD2-RSH-1.2E.L3 receives safety discrete commands from the ESD/DCS digital output card. When the safety signal is present, the internal safety relay is energized and the contact closes to activate the field actuator. When safety trip, wire fault or module internal failure occurs, the relay de-energizes and cuts off the load. PEPPERL+FUCHS KFD2-RSH-1.2E.L3 converts the safety controller low-voltage signal into isolated high-voltage switching output, and feeds fault diagnosis status back to the control system.
