Overview

MOELLER DIL2AM is a 3-pole AC contactor of the Moeller DILM series, now under Eaton brand. MOELLER DIL2AM is rated 90A (AC-3), designed for switching three-phase AC motors and resistive loads. MOELLER DIL2AM is widely used in motor control centers and power distribution cabinets, and it is a common legacy spare part for maintenance and retrofit of old Moeller control systems.

Features

MOELLER DIL2AM adopts 3 main NO power contacts without built-in auxiliary contacts; auxiliary contact blocks can be snapped on top separately. It supports AC coil supply with different voltage options such as 110V, 220V, 240V 50/60Hz. MOELLER DIL2AM has high short-circuit withstand capacity and reliable arc extinguishing structure for frequent motor start-stop cycles. The screw terminal design accepts large-section cables and supports front wiring. It complies with IEC 60947-4-1 standard and has IP20 finger-safe protection for terminals. MOELLER DIL2AM can be fitted with optional accessories including auxiliary contacts, surge suppressors, mechanical interlocks and lateral interlock kits. It is mounted on standard DIN rail and has compact housing to save cabinet space.

Principle

MOELLER DIL2AM closes the main power contacts when the coil receives the control voltage. The three-phase power passes through the contactor to supply power to the motor or load. When the coil is de-energized, the internal spring opens the main contacts and cuts off the load circuit. MOELLER DIL2AM receives start/stop commands from PLC, relays or push buttons. Add-on auxiliary contacts synchronously switch state to send feedback signals to the control system. It realizes remote on-off switching of heavy AC loads.

Applications

MOELLER DIL2AM is widely used in industrial motor control circuits. It is commonly applied in pumps, fans, compressors, conveyor lines and packaging machinery. It works with thermal overload relays or electronic motor protectors to form complete motor starter assemblies. It is also used for spare replacement and cabinet renovation of existing Moeller DILM series control panels.
