Features

Principle

CUTLER-HAMMER HMCP250W5W samples the current of the motor main circuit continuously. When severe short-circuit fault occurs and the current reaches the preset magnetic threshold, the internal magnetic coil generates instant electromagnetic force to trigger the mechanism and open the main contacts quickly. This device only provides short-circuit protection; motor overload protection is realized by external thermal overload relay. CUTLER-HAMMER HMCP250W5W isolates the fault circuit to avoid damage to cables and motor winding caused by short-circuit current. Auxiliary contacts can synchronously change state to send fault alarm signals to PLC and monitoring systems.
