Description
ALLEN BRADLEY 140M-D8E-C16 140M D-frame Motor Protection Circuit Breaker (MPCB)
Overview The ALLEN BRADLEY 140M-D8E-C16 is a Bulletin 140M D-frame thermal-magnetic motor protection circuit breaker (MPCB) under Rockwell Automation. It delivers overload, short-circuit and phase-failure protection for three-phase motors, widely stocked as spare for machine control and MCC panels.
Features This unit adopts rotary knob adjustment, adjustable thermal trip range of 10–16A. The 140M-D8E-C16 supports high breaking capacity up to 65kA@400V, 3-pole design, screw terminal connection, and can be assembled with auxiliary contact blocks, shunt trip and undervoltage accessories. It is phase-loss sensitive and conforms to IEC 60947‑4‑1. This model is discontinued by the manufacturer, with replacement part 140MT-D9E-C16.
Specs Model: 140M-D8E-C16 Series: Allen‑Bradley 140M Type: 3‑pole thermal‑magnetic motor protection circuit breaker Adjustment range: 10–16 A Rated insulation voltage: 690V Breaking capacity: 65kA (400V) Mounting: DIN rail Protection class: IP20 Certifications: CE, UL, IEC Product status: Obsolete spare
Principle The bimetallic thermal element trips automatically for overload protection. The magnetic trip unit triggers instant cut-off for short-circuit faults. It also detects phase loss and prevents motor damage, and can be used as a local disconnect switch.
Applications The 140M-D8E-C16 is widely deployed in conveyor systems, packaging machinery, pump and fan control cabinets. It is used for integrated switching and protection of three-phase AC motors.
