Description

Allen‑Bradley 193‑EC2DD E3 Plus Electronic Overload Relay

Overview

The Allen‑Bradley 193‑EC2DD is an E3 Plus electronic overload relay from the Rockwell Automation Bulletin 193 series, with an adjustable current range of 9–45 A. It is designed to pair with Allen‑Bradley 100‑C / 100‑D contactors to build complete motor starters and provides comprehensive motor protection functions including overload, phase loss, phase imbalance, jam and stall protection. This unit supports optional network communication modules for status data upload to PLC and DCS systems. It is widely used in MCC cabinets, water treatment skids, conveyor systems and chemical process automation. The 193‑EC2DD is discontinued and supplied mainly as spare replacement.

Features

The Allen‑Bradley 193‑EC2DD is an E3 Plus solid‑state electronic overload relay.193‑EC2DD adjustable current setting: 9 A to 45 A. Multi‑protection functions: overload, single‑phase loss, phase unbalance, locked rotor and stall detection. Local status LED indicators for trip, warning and power status. Modular expansion for communication options (DeviceNet). Direct mounting onto matching 100‑C and 100‑D contactor frames. Trip class configurable, suitable for standard and heavy‑duty motor applications. Compliant with UL 508, CSA and IEC standards.

Specs

Device Type: Electronic Overload Relay Model: Allen‑Bradley 193‑EC2DD Brand: Allen‑Bradley (Rockwell Automation) Series: Bulletin 193 E3 Plus Adjustable current range: 9 A – 45 A Trip functions: Overload, phase loss, phase imbalance, jam / stall Compatible contactors: 100‑C, 100‑D series Certification: UL 508, CSA, IEC Status: Discontinued legacy spare part

Principle

The Allen‑Bradley 193‑EC2DD samples the three‑phase motor current through built‑in current sensing elements. The internal microcontroller calculates thermal capacity, phase balance and current change rate. When abnormal conditions exceed the preset threshold, the relay triggers the auxiliary contact to break the contactor control circuit and stop the motor for protection.

Applications

The Allen‑Bradley 193‑EC2DD is used for three‑phase motor protection in MCC panels, pump and fan skids, material handling lines and industrial process equipment. The 193‑EC2DD is stocked as spare replacement for existing E3 Plus motor control systems.
