Principle

Mitel MiVoice 5000 LT2N BHJ0070A terminates the E1 physical line and extracts the 30 bearer channels plus D-channel signaling. The D-channel processes call setup, disconnect, number identification and status messages. Bearer voice channels are mapped into the internal TDM backplane of the MiVoice 5000 gateway for switching to internal digital/analog stations or other trunks. If loss of sync, AIS alarm, CRC error or D-channel failure occurs, the card raises trunk alarms and blocks new calls on the affected E1 port.
