KONGSBERG RAi-16xe REMOTE ANALOGUE INPUT MODULE

KONGSBERG RAi-16xe is a 16-channel remote analogue input module, part of Kongsberg K-Chief marine distributed automation I/O series, powered by 24VDC supply and communicating over redundant CANopen 4.0 fieldbus for vessel machinery monitoring systems. The analogue input module collects analogue sensor signals including 4–20mA, 0–10V voltage and resistance signals from pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, level gauges and flow transmitters onboard ships. The analogue input module converts raw analogue readings into time-stamped digital data and transmits processed values to the main K-Chief automation controller via CAN bus. The analogue input module supports per-channel free scaling into engineering units, limit checking, alarm generation and trend logging for process monitoring. The analogue input module integrates hardware self-testing, open-wire detection and sensor excitation overload protection to validate sensor circuit health continuously.

KONGSBERG RAi-16xe adopts rugged DIN rail mounting design for installation in engine room and local machinery cabinets. The marine I/O unit has built-in LED indicators for watchdog, run status, communication fault and power polarity alarm for fast on-site troubleshooting. The marine I/O unit supports remote parameter configuration without internal jumpers or trimmer adjustment, all channel settings are stored locally inside the module. The marine I/O unit is designed for direct mounting on main engine assemblies, holding marine classification approval to withstand shock, vibration, humidity and wide temperature fluctuation in engine room environments. The marine I/O unit also includes one 5–500Hz pulse counter channel for frequency signal acquisition.

KONGSBERG RAi-16xe is widely deployed on cargo ships, tankers and offshore vessels for K-Chief 600 / K-Chief 700 alarm monitoring and machinery control systems.
