cRIO-9014 belongs to NI classic CompactRIO hardware family. It is a standalone real-time controller without built-in C Series I/O slots and FPGA. It must pair with a CompactRIO reconfigurable chassis to mount C Series I/O modules and execute FPGA logic. The 400 MHz PowerPC processor runs VxWorks real-time operating system, equipped with 128 MB DRAM and 2 GB onboard storage for application programs and data logging.

This controller integrates 10/100 Mbps Ethernet for PC communication and networked control, RS232 serial port, USB port for external storage, plus SMB connector for digital I/O and GPS time synchronization. Power input 9–35 V DC with reverse voltage protection. Multiple LED indicators show power, FPGA, system status and user-defined signals. DIP switches support safe mode, IP reset and startup configuration. Operating temperature range -40℃ ~ +70℃ for rugged extended-temperature industrial environments, suitable for Class I Division 2 hazardous locations.
