TSXP6720 belongs to the old TSX7 PLC platform from Schneider Telemecanique. It is the central processing unit for TSX7 rack-based PLC systems. It has 16K words of program memory, supports ladder logic programming. It integrates two serial ports: RS232 for programming terminal connection and RS485 for field communication with HMI or other controllers. It executes logic control, analog acquisition, timing/counting and data exchange tasks for local I/O modules mounted on the TSX backplane.

The front panel has multiple LED indicators to display RUN status, system fault, I/O error and serial communication activity for fast on-site troubleshooting. It relies on lithium backup battery to retain RAM program and data when power is off. It can expand system scale by adding digital/analog input-output modules and optional communication modules on the TSX rack.
