NI 9206 NI C Series Isolated Analog Input Module

Detailed Description NI 9206 is a high-performance C Series isolated analog input module designed for NI CompactRIO and CompactDAQ data acquisition platforms. It provides flexible channel configuration supporting 32 single-ended voltage inputs or 16 differential inputs, with 16-bit ADC resolution and total sampling rate up to 250 kS/s. Four programmable voltage ranges are selectable: ±200 mV, ±1 V, ±5 V and ±10 V, suitable for high-precision voltage measurement in fuel cell stacks, battery testing and general industrial voltage monitoring applications.

This module features 600 VDC channel-to-earth ground isolation, which effectively suppresses common-mode noise and protects the acquisition system from high voltage transients. Each analog input channel is equipped with ±30 V overvoltage protection to prevent hardware damage caused by accidental over-range signals. The front panel adopts spring terminal connectors for fast and reliable field wiring. It also includes one PFI programmable function digital trigger line to realize hardware timing and synchronous sampling with other C-series modules in the same chassis. The module uses multiplexed scanning sampling instead of simultaneous sampling for all channels.

The NI 9206 is fully programmable under LabVIEW environment. Users can configure voltage range, sampling mode, filtering and trigger settings via NI-DAQmx or FPGA interface. The compact enclosed casing follows industrial design, with IP20 protection grade and operating temperature from -40℃ to 70℃. It can be directly inserted into CompactRIO or cDAQ chassis, supporting hot swapping for convenient system maintenance and channel expansion. It is widely deployed in energy test benches, automotive battery test systems, aerospace measurement and industrial process signal logging.

NI 9206 is available as both new and legacy spare DAQ component. When the original module fails, replacement with identical NI 9206 can reuse existing sensor wiring, chassis slot and LabVIEW measurement program without major code modification. Technicians only install the module, verify terminal wiring and download the existing acquisition configuration, so the test system resumes data acquisition quickly and reduces downtime.

Before shipment, every NI 9206 undergoes comprehensive functional inspection including power-on test, multi-range voltage calibration, isolation resistance check, overvoltage protection test and trigger signal verification.
