Max allowable load resistance of analog channel: 500Ω
Isolation & Wide-Temperature Protection Circuit
Dielectric isolation voltage between field side and control backplane ≥2500VAC
Analog channels: Wide-temperature current limiting resistors + bidirectional surge absorption filters
Discrete output channels: Low-temperature resistant freewheeling diodes to eliminate coil reverse EMF
Each channel independent short-circuit protection with automatic recovery without component damage under temperature cycling
Dual-Color LED Diagnostic Indicators
Global operation indicator: Steady green = self-test completed normally; Flashing red = DB25 bus communication fault
Single channel LED: Green = normal signal loop; Red = open circuit, short circuit or overload fault
3. Environmental Operating Specifications
4. Installation & Operating Instructions
Module Installation Steps
(1) Install standard 35mm DIN rail horizontally inside outdoor or temperature-fluctuating DCS cabinet
(2) Snap P0916PW onto DIN rail and lock the bottom anti-slip buckle tightly
(3) Connect shielded DB25 communication cable between module backplane port and matched FBM I/O module
Wide Temperature Wiring Specifications
Field cables adopt wide-temperature resistant shielded twisted pair wire; single-point shielding grounding inside cabinet
Digital control cable uses independent wiring duct, avoid parallel laying with high-voltage heating cables
Retighten all compression screws every six months to eliminate loose contact caused by cold and heat expansion and contraction
24VDC power supply strictly distinguishes positive and negative poles; analog and digital groups use independent power loops
Power-On Startup & System Configuration Process
(1) Check all compression terminals for firm locking and wide-temperature cable insulation integrity
(2) Close cabinet door and supply 24VDC power; module completes self-diagnosis within 30 seconds
(3) Log into I/A Series workstation, configure channel signal types (AI/AO/DI/DO) and activate built-in temperature compensation function
(4) Download parameter configuration to FBM module, test sensor signal acquisition and actuator driving performance under alternating cold and hot environment
Routine Maintenance Rules
Check channel LED indicators and terminal tightness per shift, focus on temperature cycling affected terminals
Remove dust accumulated on terminal sockets monthly to prevent signal drift caused by contact resistance change
Inspect DB25 cable aging, connector oxidation and wire insulation embrittlement every half year
5. Safety Precautions
Live plugging/unplugging of DB25 communication cables and field signal wires is strictly prohibited. Cut off the 24VDC total power supply before wiring maintenance to avoid burning internal isolation circuits.
Avoid direct cold wind or high-temperature heat source long-term impact on the module surface; reserve sufficient heat and cold dissipation gap around DIN rail.
Unauthorized disassembly of internal circuit boards is forbidden; internal circuit maintenance and calibration must be performed by Foxboro certified automation technicians.
If multiple channels continuously trigger red fault alarms under extreme low or high temperature, cut off power supply immediately to check cable insulation aging, wire breakage or overloaded loops.
6. Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting Guide
All indicators off: Inspect cabinet 24VDC power circuit and loose power terminals caused by thermal expansion and cold contraction
Single channel red fault light: Check field sensor/actuator open circuit, wire insulation cracking or loose compression terminal under temperature alternation
Flashing global red light (bus communication failure): Verify DB25 cable shielding integrity and connector contact tightness
Analog signal severe drift with temperature change: Activate temperature drift compensation parameter, strengthen cabinet constant temperature auxiliary cooling/heating and single-point shielding grounding
