Description
Foxboro P0913EC Operation Manual
3.1 Main Technical Parameters
Signal Type: 4–20mA two-wire transmitter measurement signal
Channel Layout: Multi standard-density independent measurement loops
Isolation: Per-channel basic optoelectronic galvanic isolation
Noise & Surge Protection: Single-stage standard EMI filter + basic transient surge absorption
Loop Power: Built-in isolated 24VDC power supply for field transmitters
Operating Power: 24VDC DC power supplied by DCS rack bus
Ambient Condition: Working temperature 0℃ ~ +60℃; storage temperature -40℃ ~ +70℃; humidity 10%–95% RH non-condensing
Safety Standard: Class I Division 2 Intrinsic Safety; IP20 protection grade
Installation: Standard 35mm DIN rail snap-on mounting
Compatibility: Fully compatible with Foxboro FBM series analog input fieldbus modules
Diagnosis Indicators: Power, Run, Global Fault and individual channel status LED indicators
Maintainability: Hot-swap supported without cutting off the entire rack power
3.2 Standard Installation Procedures
Install 35mm standard DIN rail inside fully sealed clean indoor DCS cabinet, reserve at least 4cm ventilation space around the module. Do not install in cabinets with salt fog, strong corrosive gas or ambient temperature below 0℃.
Fasten the elastic locking buckle at the module bottom onto DIN rail tightly; multiple modules can be installed side by side without obvious signal crosstalk.
Wiring sequence: Connect rack 24VDC operating power to dedicated power terminals and strictly follow positive/negative polarity; connect field two-wire transmitters to numbered field-side terminals; connect system-side signal cables to matched FBM modules. Only Foxboro original certified shielded analog cables can be used.
Pre-power inspection: Check tightness of all terminals, eliminate exposed wire cores, short-circuit risks and metal debris inside terminal blocks.
Power-on commissioning: Energize the DCS rack, confirm solid green Power LED and slow flashing Run LED. Complete full-channel 4–20mA signal verification before formal process operation.
3.3 Common Fault Troubleshooting
Power LED always off: DCS rack 24VDC power failure, loose power terminals or internal power circuit burnout.
Amber Fault LED flashes repeatedly: Single-channel transmitter open circuit, field signal cable short circuit or insufficient loop power.
Red Fault LED keeps lit: Multi-channel simultaneous short circuit, internal isolation chip damage or corrupted module firmware.
Obvious signal jitter: On-site electromagnetic interference exceeds the filtering capacity of basic single-stage filter.
Severe measurement drift: Cabinet temperature exceeds 60℃ or ambient temperature drops below 0℃ (no low-temperature preheating circuit).
3.4 Mandatory Safety Instructions
Cut off the whole rack 24VDC power before wiring, disassembly and maintenance. Although hot-swap is available, power-off maintenance is strongly recommended to prevent analog signal surges triggering false process interlock.
This module has no anti-salt-fog coating and low-temperature preheating components, so deployment in offshore, coastal, unheated outdoor or sub-zero cabinets is strictly forbidden.
If the cabinet internal temperature exceeds 60℃ for a long time, internal isolation and signal processing chips will suffer permanent burnout; ensure cabinet cooling equipment runs normally.
Unauthorized disassembly of the module housing and internal precision circuit components will void the official factory warranty.
Anti-static and shockproof packaging must be adopted during transportation and storage to protect fragile internal signal chips.
