POF-OPTION

POF-OPTION is an optional communication module developed by SEW-EURODRIVE, specially designed for MOVIFIT and MOVIPRO decentralized drive systems. POF stands for Polymer Optical Fiber. This module performs bidirectional conversion between electrical PROFINET signals and optical signals, enabling data transmission via plastic optical fiber. It delivers excellent resistance to electromagnetic interference, making it ideal for harsh industrial sites with strong electromagnetic noise generated by inverters and motors.

Description

Function Description

This module converts standard electrical PROFINET signals into optical signals for transmission over POF cables, and converts incoming optical signals back into electrical signals. It effectively isolates electromagnetic interference and ensures stable and reliable communication. As a pluggable accessory, it can be easily installed on compatible SEW drive units to upgrade the communication mode.
