Bentley 330101-00-28-10-11-00 Product Description
I. Product Overview
The Bentley 330101-00-28-10-11-00 belongs to the 3300 XL series of 8mm eddy current proximity probes under Baker Hughes. It is the core sensing component of the rotating machinery condition monitoring system, strictly following the API 670 industry standard. The product adopts a non-contact measurement design and is mainly used for detecting radial vibration, axial displacement, shaft eccentricity, and phase rotational speed signals of industrial equipment shafts. With excellent stability and environmental adaptability, it is widely used in large-scale rotating units in fields such as power, petrochemicals, and metallurgy, providing reliable data support for online equipment monitoring, fault early warning, and safety interlock protection.
II. Model Code Interpretation
330101 is the base model, representing the 3300 XL series standard 8mm eddy current probe; the second code 00 indicates the standard non-threaded installation length of the probe; the third code 28 represents the overall length of the probe housing as 2.8 inches; the fourth code 10 indicates the probe's built-in cable length of 1 meter, with an unarmored structure; the fifth code 11 is the connector specification code, configured with standard coaxial connection connectors; the sixth code 00 indicates that the product has no explosion-proof certification and is suitable for ordinary non-hazardous industrial environments.
III. Working Principle
This product achieves measurement functionality based on the eddy current effect. The coil inside the probe is supplied with high-frequency alternating current, generating a stable alternating magnetic field. When the probe approaches the metal shaft being measured, the metal surface will induce eddy currents. The reverse magnetic field formed by the eddy currents will change the inductance and impedance parameters of the probe coil. The accompanying preamplifier can accurately capture this electrical parameter change and linearly convert it into a standard negative voltage analog signal. The entire measurement process does not require contact with the measured object and is not affected by moisture, oil, dust, etc., allowing for long-term stable operation.
IV. Main Technical Parameters
This product belongs to the 3300 XL 8mm complete sensing system. The effective linear measurement range is 2.0 mm, and the effective working range covers 0.25 mm to 2.3 mm. The standard measurement sensitivity is 7.87V/mm, with an accuracy error controlled within ±5%, and the overall linearity does not exceed ±0.025 mm. The output voltage range within the linear range is - 1VDC to - 17VDC. The recommended static gap for regular installation of the equipment is 1.27 mm, corresponding to an output voltage of - 9VDC. The frequency response range is 0 to 10 kHz, meeting the detection requirements of various high and low-speed units. At 25℃ ambient temperature, the overall resistance of the probe is 7.59Ω, with an allowable deviation of ±0.50Ω.
The product's operating temperature range is - 51℃ to + 177℃. The housing is made of 303/304 stainless steel, with good mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The tip of the probe is made of high-temperature-resistant insulating polyphenylene sulfide material, and the outer layer of the cable is an FEP fluoropolymer insulation layer, resistant to oil, aging, and having good flexibility. The overall protection level of the equipment is IP65, effectively preventing dust and water. The series components have universal interchangeability, and there is no need for separate pairing and calibration between the probe, extension cable, and preamplifier. Assembly and use are more convenient. The product has CE and UL regular safety certifications, but does not have explosion-proof qualifications.
V. Product Structure and Core Features
(1) Mechanical Structure
The probe is equipped with 3/8-24 UNF standard external threads, compatible with mainstream industrial installation bases, and can be fixed firmly with a lock nut. The overall shell length is moderate, suitable for compact and narrow equipment installation spaces. It comes with a 1-meter unarmored cable, allowing flexible wiring and low bending resistance at the end. It is equipped with a standard coaxial connector for secure connection, which can resist the vibration caused by equipment operation and is less prone to contact failure. The overall structure is simple, and the disassembly, maintenance, and replacement procedures are straightforward.
(II) Product Advantages
High measurement accuracy, small temperature drift, stable and reliable data during long-term continuous operation, capable of accurately capturing the tiny vibrations and displacement changes of the equipment. The built-in electromagnetic shielding design has outstanding anti-electromagnetic interference ability, which can adapt to strong electromagnetic working conditions such as factory frequency converters and high-power motors. The components have strong versatility, and the spare parts management and on-site maintenance costs are lower. The non-contact measurement method does not cause wear to the measured shaft, and has a long service life. The overall protection performance is excellent, and it can adapt to harsh on-site working conditions with multiple dust and oil stains.
VI. System Composition and Equipment Compatibility
This probe cannot be used alone. The complete measurement system needs to be combined with the same series extension cable and 3300 XL preamplifier. The total length of the probe cable and the extension cable must be strictly matched with the calibration parameters of the corresponding preamplifier to ensure measurement accuracy. The product is fully compatible with the BT 3300 series and 3500 series monitoring framework. The collected signals can be directly connected to industrial control systems such as DCS and PLC to complete real-time display, over-limit alarm, and safety interlock functions. It also supports dual applications of static position measurement and dynamic vibration measurement.
VII. Typical Application Scenarios
It is mainly used in equipment such as steam turbines, gas turbines, power generation units, large water pumps, induced draft fans, and supply fans in the power industry; it is suitable for various centrifugal compressors, industrial pump sets, and large power units in the petrochemical industry; it can be used in rotating equipment such as large motors, gearboxes, and high-speed fans in the metallurgical and general industrial fields. The main monitored items include radial vibration of the shaft, axial displacement, and eccentricity of the shaft. It can also be combined with the system to collect key signals to achieve equipment speed monitoring.
VIII. Installation and Daily Maintenance Specifications
When installing, adjust the static gap between the probe and the measured shaft to a standard 1.27 mm, with an output of -9VDC. Do not allow the probe to directly contact the shaft body to avoid friction damage to the probe. After the threaded installation is completed, make sure to tighten the anti-loosening nut to prevent the probe from loosening and shifting due to equipment vibration. The cable laying path should be away from strong current cables and large-power electrical equipment to reduce electromagnetic interference. The minimum bending radius of the cable must not be less than 5 times the diameter of the cable. The total length of the system bus cable must be consistent with the parameters of the preamplifier and must not be changed at will.
During daily use, it is recommended to conduct an accuracy calibration once a year to ensure accurate measurement data. If there are signal fluctuations or abnormal values, check the connection status of the connector, whether the cable appearance is damaged, and also check whether the on-site environmental temperature exceeds the rated range. Regularly clean the oil stains and dust on the tip of the probe to avoid affecting the measurement effect.
IX. Usage Precautions
Use strictly within the rated temperature range. Do not forcefully impact or bend the probe body. To prevent internal coils from being damaged. This model does not have explosion-proof certification. It is strictly prohibited to install and use in flammable and explosive hazardous areas. To ensure performance and safety, it is recommended to use the original components provided by BT. Mixing non-original components will cause measurement errors and system failures. Avoid immersing the probe in strong corrosive liquids for a long time. In harsh working conditions, increase the inspection frequency.
