VII. Core functions
1. Non-contact precise detection
The probe coil receives the 0.5MHz to 2MHz high-frequency excitation signal output by the preamplifier, forming an alternating magnetic field. The magnetic field acts on the rotating metal shaft, and the metal surface induces eddy currents. The eddy currents reverse and change the inductance and impedance of the coil. The probe transmits the electrical parameter changes to the preamplifier, converting them into linear voltage signals, accurately measuring the gap between the probe and the shaft, and simultaneously collecting static displacement and dynamic vibration data. There is no mechanical contact throughout the process, and zero wear.
2. Medium-long shell of full-length thread suitable for regular deep holes
The full-length thread combined with a 5.0-inch medium-long shell is suitable for regular depth installation holes and full-length thread locking measurement points. The stainless steel shell has strong vibration and deformation resistance, high installation coaxiality, and is not prone to offset over the long term. The fixation effect is stable and reliable.
3. Standard cable suitable for regular wiring
1-meter non-armored flexible cable, suitable for medium-distance connection scenarios between the probe and the preamplifier, extension cable, etc. The cable has good flexibility, and can be normally bent in narrow spaces. The original factory length ensures impedance matching. Do not cut privately.
4. Wide temperature operation and temperature compensation
Built-in high-temperature coils and insulating materials, combined with the system's automatic temperature compensation circuit, effectively suppresses temperature drift within the -52℃ to +177℃ wide temperature range, ensuring continuous and accurate measurement data under different working conditions.
5. Line self-check and rapid maintenance
Can be coordinated with the preamplifier to achieve line fault detection. Precisely identify faults such as broken wires, short circuits, cable damage, and poor contact at the connection point, and output fault signals to trigger alarms. The same specification probes, cables, and preamplifiers have strong interchangeability, and after on-site replacement of spare parts, no recalibration is required, effectively shortening maintenance downtime.
VI. Working principle
The coil inside the probe is supplied with high-frequency alternating current to generate a stable electromagnetic field. The magnetic field penetrates the air gap and acts on the measured metal shaft. A closed eddy current forms on the metal surface. The intensity of the eddy current changes with the gap between the probe and the shaft, thereby affecting the inductance, impedance, etc. of the coil. The probe transmits the changing signals to the preamplifier. The preamplifier converts the physical quantity of the gap into a continuous DC voltage at a fixed ratio of 7.87V/mm. The larger the gap between the probe and the shaft, the closer the output voltage is to -17VDC; the smaller the gap, the closer the output voltage is to -1VDC. The upper-level monitoring system parses the voltage values and converts them into parameters such as shaft vibration amplitude, axial displacement, speed, phase, etc., enabling online monitoring and safety interlock protection of the equipment.
VII. Installation and laying specifications
When installing, rotate the probe slowly into the dedicated installation base to ensure that the probe end face is parallel to the surface of the measured shaft, avoiding measurement errors caused by inclination. Before installing in regular depth holes, remove debris from the hole to prevent thread jamming. It is recommended to set the initial installation gap at the midpoint of the linear range, corresponding to approximately -9VDC output from the preamplifier, to achieve the best linear measurement performance. Threaded fastening is strictly carried out at a standard torque of 1.1N・m to 1.4N・m. Forceful tightening is strictly prohibited. Cable laying should be separated from high-voltage cables and power cables for wiring, reducing electromagnetic interference. The entire process must comply with the minimum bending radius requirements. The micro ClickLoc connector is inserted into the slot and is considered connected when the locking sound is heard. Daily, dust protection for the connector should be ensured. The probe should not be soaked in oil or water for a long time. The cable should maintain the original factory length and should not be cut or spliced.
VIII. Typical Application Scenarios
In the power industry, it is mainly used for regular deep measurement points of auxiliary equipment such as steam turbine generators, boiler feed pumps, induced draft fans, and exhaust fans, to monitor shaft vibration and axial displacement, and to provide early warnings of faults such as bearing wear and rotor friction. In the petrochemical field, it is applicable to centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, process pumps, and mixing units in non-explosion-proof areas, for real-time monitoring of vibration and displacement, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the equipment.
In the metallurgical industry, it can be deployed in blast furnace fans, large transmission motors, and rolling machine rotating mechanisms, to monitor the operating status of equipment, avoiding safety hazards caused by abnormal vibration and equipment overload. It can also be used for various large-scale rotating machinery phase phase acquisition, speed measurement, and shaft eccentricity analysis, providing data support for dynamic balance correction, fault diagnosis, and condition-based maintenance. As a standard front-end component of the 3300 XL system, it can be combined with TSI monitoring cards to build a complete unit safety monitoring system.
