EMV-Modul

EMV-Modul is the German term for EMC Module. It is an integrated unit combining EMI filter and brake resistor, specially designed for SEW-EURODRIVE frequency inverters and servo drives. It fulfills electromagnetic compatibility requirements and dissipates regenerative braking energy simultaneously.

Description

Term Explanation

  • EMV: Abbreviation of Elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit, equivalent to EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) in English.

  • Modul: Module.

General Specifications

  • Rated voltage: 3-phase AC 230 V ~ 500 V, 50/60 Hz

  • Protection class: IP20

  • Installation: Inside control cabinet

  • Operating temperature: -25 °C to +45 °C

Main Functions

  1. EMI Suppression: Filters conducted electromagnetic interference on power lines, reduces noise radiation and meets industrial EMC standards.

  2. Braking Energy Dissipation: Absorbs regenerative energy generated by motors during deceleration, stopping and downward running, ensuring stable operation of drive systems.

SEW Standard Models & Ratings

  • EF014-503: Rated current 5 A, continuous power 12 W, for drives up to 2.2 kW

  • EF030-503: Rated current 10 A, continuous power 30 W, for drives up to 5.5 kW

  • EF075-503: Rated current 20 A, continuous power 75 W, for drives from 7.5 kW to 15 kW

Key Advantages

  • All-in-one design saves cabinet space and simplifies wiring.

  • Dual functions cover EMC protection and dynamic braking demands.

  • Industrial-grade structure, stable performance for long-term continuous operation.

Application

Widely applied in conveyor systems, packaging machines, lifting equipment and other industrial automation facilities equipped with SEW drive units.
