XYCOM 4153C (also known as PM4153C) is an upgraded rugged industrial tablet terminal of the 4000 series from XYCOM (now part of Schneider Electric). As a successor to the classic 4153B (CRT model), it features a 15-inch high-brightness LCD touchscreen + industrial-grade motherboard + all-metal rugged enclosure, designed specifically for demanding industrial environments, providing high-reliability human-machine interaction, real-time data monitoring, equipment control, and network management capabilities. It is suitable for upgrading old systems and modern industrial automation scenarios.

Eight, installation and commissioning key points Installation steps

Confirm the cabinet opening / rack dimensions (483×356mm), with a load-bearing capacity meeting the standard (≥30kg);

When the power is off, push the 4153C into the rack / embed it in the panel, and secure it with screws;

Connect the 24V DC power supply, serial cable, network cable, XVME bus, and keyboard/mouse (optional), ensuring the connections are firm and the grounding is reliable;

Power on and start the system. Calibrate the touch screen (click the corners of the screen) after entering the system;

Configure the IP address, serial port parameters (baud rate / check bit), touch driver, and install the required configuration software and drivers.

Debugging precautions

Install the device away from strong heat sources, strong vibration sources, and strong electromagnetic interference sources (frequency converter / motor);

Regularly calibrate the touch screen to ensure precise positioning;

Use neutral cleaner to clean the front panel, avoiding corrosion of the sealing rubber strip by strong acids and strong alkalis;

Regularly back up data and check the health status of the hard drive / solid-state drive to ensure long-term stable operation;

When serial port / Ethernet communication is abnormal, first check the shielding grounding, parameter matching, and cable integrity.

X. Fault Troubleshooting Guide

No display, power light does not light up

Check if the 24V DC power supply is normal, if the positive and negative poles are connected reversely, and if the fuse is blown;

Confirm that the power connection is firm and the grounding is reliable, replace the power module for testing;

Check the motherboard for faults, contact the after-sales service for repair.

No response or inaccurate positioning of the touch screen

Check if the touch screen data cable is securely connected and not loose;

Re-calibrate the touch screen (run the calibration program in the system tools);

Check if the touch screen driver is abnormal, reinstall the driver;

Replace the touch screen if it is physically damaged.

Blurry display, screen flickering, backlight not on

Adjust the backlight brightness, check the backlight control circuit;

Check if the LCD screen data cable is loose or damaged, reconnect or replace it;

Replace the LCD screen if it is aged or damaged.

Serial port / Ethernet / XVME communication abnormal

Check if the wiring is correct, if the shielding grounding is good, and if the cables are intact;

Confirm that the communication parameters (baud rate / IP address / protocol) are consistent with the slave station;
