KEBA DO321/B Digital Output Module (KeControl System) I. Product Overview
KEBA DO321/B Digital Output Module (KeControl System) I. Product Overview
The KEBA DO321/B is a high-density 16-channel digital output module under the KeControl platform of Austrian KEBA (Keba). Its model is often abbreviated as DO321B and belongs to the KeConnect I/O series. It is specifically designed for the control of industrial automation actuators. The module adopts a board-type structure and is compatible with KEBA's large-scale controllers (such as injection molding / die-casting machines, robots, and machine tool-specific control systems). It converts the controller's logic signals into 24V DC power outputs to drive loads such as solenoid valves, relays, contactors, and indicator lights. It is widely used in industrial scenarios with high interference and high reliability requirements.
II. Core Functions
16 Independent Digital Outputs
Each channel is completely independent and can be individually programmed and controlled for on/off. The output type is 24V DC source type (PNP) transistor output, suitable for standard industrial loads and compatible with most brands of solenoid valves and relay coils.
Single-channel 0.5A driving capability
The maximum continuous output current of a single channel is 0.5A, and the total current limit of the module is 4A (recommended continuous load ≤ 3.2A, ensuring long-term stability). It can directly drive small solenoid valves, indicator lights, and intermediate relays, without the need for additional amplification circuits.
High-speed response characteristics
Typical response time < 100μs, maximum not exceeding 1ms, suitable for high-speed action control scenarios (such as precise injection actions, high-speed sorting triggers, rapid solenoid valve switching), ensuring precise control timing.
Multi-level electrical isolation design
Electrical isolation is adopted between channels, on the output side, and the system control side. This effectively blocks on-site interference (such as motor start-stop, contactor attraction-generated electrical spikes, EMI interference), protecting the core circuit of the controller and enhancing the system's anti-interference ability and operational stability.
Complete protection mechanism
Integrated single-channel short-circuit protection, overload protection, reverse polarity protection, and overheating protection. Fault channels are automatically shut down and locked, without affecting the normal operation of other channels; after the fault is resolved, it can automatically recover, reducing the risk of equipment downtime.
Intuitive status diagnosis
Each channel is equipped with an independent green LED indicator: constantly on indicates output ON, off indicates output OFF; the module integrates a common fault LED, which lights up to indicate any channel short-circuit/overload, without the need for additional diagnostic tools, quickly locating the fault.
Bus communication and plug-and-play
Communicates with KeControl controller through KEBA dedicated system bus, automatically identifies module model and channel configuration, supports hot swapping, can directly replace the module during operation without stopping or power-off, simplifying maintenance procedures.
Industrial-grade environmental adaptability
Uses reinforced PCB, industrial-grade electronic components, fully sealed dust-proof design, resistant to vibration and impact, suitable for harsh industrial environments.

Wiring Specifications
Power Wiring: Connect the positive terminal of the external 24V DC supply to the L+ terminal of the module, and the negative terminal to the 0V terminal. Use independent power supply to avoid sharing power with other modules;
Output Wiring: Connect the positive terminals of O1 to O16 to the load positive terminals, and the negative terminals of the loads to the 24V DC 0V common terminal;
Inductive loads (electromagnetic valves / relay coils): Must be paralleled with a shunt diode (recommended 1N4007) to suppress reverse electromotive force and protect the module's output transistor;
Wire Gauge Selection: Use 0.5 to 1.5mm² multi-strand copper core wires. Separate strong and weak current wiring to reduce interference.
VIII. Troubleshooting Guide
Single-channel LED does not light up, no output
Check if the external 24V DC power supply is normal for the module;
Confirm if channel programming is enabled and the output logic is correct;
Check if the load is open-circuited or the wiring is loose;
Test if the channel is locked due to short circuit / overload, and restart the module to restore.
Common Fault LED Lights Up
Immediately power off, and check each output line for short circuits and load damage;
Check if the inductive loads do not have a shunt diode, causing reverse electromotive force to break the channel;
Confirm if the total current of the module exceeds 4A and if the load configuration is excessive.
Output Malfunction / Instability
Check if the system grounding is good, and if the controller is common ground with the field equipment;
Check if there are any strong interference sources (large power motors, frequency converters) around, and add shielding wires;
Confirm if the shunt diode for the inductive loads is installed correctly and intact.
