Description

AREVA P821 B00W211000 48087551 58758/001 MiCOM P821 Breaker Failure Protection Relay

Overview

The AREVA MiCOM P821 (B00W211000, 48087551, 58758/001) is a dedicated breaker failure protection relay for Areva MiCOM series substation protection systems. It monitors trip circuit status and initiates back-up tripping when the circuit breaker fails to open, widely stocked as spare for high-voltage substation protection schemes.

Features

This P821 relay supports configurable timer settings, binary input status monitoring and multi-stage back-up tripping logic. The P821 B00W211000 records fault event logs and trip records, equipped with local LCD keypad for parameter viewing and commissioning. It can be fitted with optional communication interface for SCADA integration and is an obsolete legacy protection relay.

Specs

Model: P821 B00W211000, 48087551, 58758/001 Series: MiCOM P821 Type: breaker failure protection relay Function: breaker failure detection, backup trip initiation Mounting: panel cutout Front protection: IP54 Certifications: CE, IEC 60255 Product status: substation protection spare

Principle

The relay receives fault initiation signal and breaker position feedback. If current still persists after the preset time delay, the P821 judges breaker failure and sends backup trip commands to upstream breakers to isolate the fault section. It stores event records for post-fault analysis.

Applications

The P821 B00W211000 is widely deployed in high-voltage substations, power plants and utility transmission switchyards. It is used for breaker failure backup protection for HV circuit breaker protection schemes.
