Overview

The PEPPERL+FUCHS KFD2-HMM-16 is a K-System HART multiplexer primary master module for HART field instrument communication. It supports 16 onboard HART channels and can connect up to 15 pcs KFD0-HMS-16 slave modules for expansion, widely stocked as spare for chemical, oil & gas and DCS process systems.

Features This KFD2-HMM-16 supports HART revision 5 to 7, RS485 multidrop communication and DIP switch address & baud rate setting. The KFD2-HMM-16 achieves SIL3 safety rating, has built-in diagnostic LED and allows total 256 HART devices in one multiplexer network. It is Zone 2 certified for hazardous area installation.

Principle

The KFD2-HMM-16 polls HART instruments time-division multiplexing, collects digital HART data and transmits data to host system via RS485. It detects loop faults and reports device offline status to the diagnostic system.

Applications

The KFD2-HMM-16 is widely deployed in refineries, chemical skids, power plants and water treatment facilities. It is used for multi-drop HART instrument management and parameter access for DCS and asset management software.
