EATON EFBW5IN1DET BiWire Ultra 5-in-1 Multi-Sensor Fire Detector

Overview

The EATON EFBW5IN1DET is a BiWire Ultra 5-in-1 multi-sensor fire detector designed for Eaton BiWire Flexi two-wire fire alarm systems. It can be configured via rear DIP switches into five independent operating modes: optical smoke, optical‑thermal combined, rate-of-rise heat, fixed 60°C heat and fixed 90°C heat. It carries EN54-5 and EN54-7 approvals and features a 360° visible status LED with light pipe technology. It requires the matching FXN520 detector base for installation. It is widely used in commercial buildings, industrial plants, cleanrooms and fire safety skids as spare replacement for BiWire fire detection systems.

Principle

The EATON EFBW5IN1DET integrates optical smoke sensing and thermal temperature sensing elements. Based on the selected mode, it monitors smoke obscuration or ambient temperature rise. When the measured value exceeds the alarm threshold, the detector sends an alarm signal back to the BiWire fire alarm control panel over the two-wire loop.
