Overview

The HELVAR 498 DIGIDIM is an 8‑channel volt‑free relay output unit for Helvar DIGIDIM and Imagine intelligent lighting control systemsHelvar. It supports dual bus communication: DALI (IEC 62386) or Helvar SDIM, not simultaneously. Each channel is equipped with a high‑inrush relay rated 16 A, suitable for switching non‑dimmable lighting, contactors, blinds and auxiliary equipment that generates large switch‑on surge currentHelvar. It is DIN‑rail mounted and configured via Helvar Designer software for scene control, grouping and interlock logic.

Principle

The HELVAR 498 DIGIDIM receives scene and switch commands from the Helvar router or controller over DALI or SDIM bus. The internal logic drives individual relay contacts to switch mains loads. The local buttons and external override input can bypass bus control for manual testing or safety interlock. Channel grouping, scene sequences and delay parameters are set inside Helvar Designer project file.

Applications

The HELVAR 498 DIGIDIM is deployed in offices, hotels, conference centres, education buildings and public venues for switching non‑dimmable luminaires, motorised blinds, contactors and auxiliary lighting loads.
