Overview

The COGNEX IS5403-10 is a grayscale fixed-mount vision system from the legacy Cognex In-Sight 5000 series. The full part marking 800-5830-4R A is the factory part number; the suffix R stands for RoHS compliant and A is revision level. This unit uses a 1/3-inch CCD sensor, supports PatMax pattern matching, OCR/OCV, measurement, defect inspection and barcode reading. It is widely integrated into automated assembly, packaging and electronics lines. The In-Sight 5403 series is discontinued, only used for spare replacement of existing installed vision stations.

Principle

Upon receiving trigger signal from PLC or sensor, the COGNEX IS5403-10 captures a grayscale image and executes the stored inspection job. It runs pattern matching, measurement or reading algorithms locally, then outputs Pass/Fail result and data via Ethernet or discrete I/O to control the downstream process.

Applications

The COGNEX IS5403-10 is used for part presence check, assembly verification, dimensional gauging, label OCR, barcode reading and defect detection on electronics, automotive, packaging and material handling lines. The COGNEX IS5403-10 is stocked as spare for legacy In-Sight 5000 vision cell maintenance. For new projects, In-Sight 7800 / 7900 series are common upgrades.
