Overview

The PR ELECTRONICS 2295 is a DIN rail mounted signal conditioning isolator from the legacy PR 2000 series. The PR ELECTRONICS 2295 is designed to isolate, convert and scale standard process analog signals such as 4–20 mA, 0–10 V between field sensors and control systems like PLC, DCS and recorders. It provides galvanic isolation to break ground loops and suppress heavy EMC interference in chemical, oil & gas and power control cabinets. This model is end-of-life and only used as spare replacement for existing installed systems.

The PR ELECTRONICS 2295 supports configurable analog input and output ranges via DIP switch or handheld programming unit. The PR ELECTRONICS 2295 provides galvanic isolation between input, output and power supply. It is built for low drift and high long-term stability under fluctuating temperature and noisy industrial environments. Slim housing fits standard NS35 DIN rail mounting. Same part number is required for direct drop-in replacement; for new projects, PR 4114 / 4184 universal transmitters are the common modern alternatives.

Principle

The PR ELECTRONICS 2295 receives analog process signal from the field side, isolates the signal electrically and converts/scales it to the target output range. The isolation barrier eliminates ground potential difference between field instruments and control room I/O cards. The conditioned clean signal is transmitted to PLC or DCS for measurement, control and interlock.

The PR ELECTRONICS 2295 is deployed in process control cabinets, oil & gas skids, power plants and water treatment facilities for isolating pressure, temperature, flow and level transmitter signals.
