ADVANTECH ADAM-4017+ 8-channel Analog Input Module

ADVANTECH ADAM-4017+ 8-channel differential 16-bit analog input RS485 Modbus RTU remote I/O module for 4-20mA transmitter signal acquisition spare replacement.

Description

ADVANTECH ADAM-4017+ 8-channel Analog Input Module

Overview

The ADVANTECH ADAM-4017+ is an 8-channel differential analog input remote I/O module of the ADAM-4000 series. The ADVANTECH ADAM-4017+ collects mV, voltage and 4–20 mA analog signals from field transmitters, and transmits data to PLC, HMI or SCADA via RS-485. It supports both Modbus RTU and ADAM ASCII command protocol, with 3000 VDC isolation to break ground loop interference. It is widely used for pressure, temperature, flow and level signal acquisition in factory automation, water treatment and skid control systems.

Features

The ADVANTECH ADAM-4017+ provides 8 fully differential input channels, each channel can be independently configured. The ADVANTECH ADAM-4017+ has built-in 4–20 mA current input circuit, no external shunt resistor required. It adopts 16-bit ADC resolution, total sampling rate 10 S/s. The module supports baud rate from 1200 to 115200 bps, up to 1200 m RS-485 bus length. It has watchdog timer for communication fault recovery, and NS35 DIN rail slim housing. The variant ADAM-4017+-F is with conformal coating for corrosive environments.

Principle

The field analog signal enters the differential input circuit of the ADVANTECH ADAM-4017+. The ADC converts analog quantity into digital value. The on-board processor packs the data and responds to host query over RS-485 Modbus or ASCII. The isolation barrier separates field side and control side to eliminate common-mode interference and ground potential difference.

Applications

The ADVANTECH ADAM-4017+ is used to collect transmitter signals for automation skids, water plants, HVAC and packaging lines. The ADVANTECH ADAM-4017+ is stocked as spare part for legacy ADAM-4000 system replacement and remote signal expansion. For new projects, ADAM-4117 is the upgraded high-speed version.
