KOYO U-08N 8-point DC Input Module for DirectLOGIC 405 / DL405 PLC

Overview

The KOYO U-08N is an 8-channel DC digital input expansion module for Koyo DirectLOGIC 405 (DL405) series PLC systems. The KOYO U-08N receives 24V DC discrete signals from field sensors, proximity switches, pushbuttons and limit switches, converts them into internal logic signals for the PLC CPU. The KOYO U-08N is a widely stocked spare I/O module for legacy Koyo PLC control cabinets, used in machine tools, material handling, packaging and general industrial automation retrofits.

Features

The KOYO U-08N provides 8 isolated DC input points with optical coupling isolation to suppress field noise interference. The KOYO U-08N supports standard 24 V DC sink/source input wiring, compatible with most common NPN and PNP field sensors. Each channel has an individual status LED for quick on-site signal diagnosis. The module adopts the U-series bus backplane connection, plug-in installation on the DL405 base rack. The hardware layout and bus protocol are fixed for the DL405 platform, supporting direct replacement for existing U-08N units without program modification.

Principle

When the field sensor or switch closes the circuit, the KOYO U-08N input channel gets the 24 V DC signal. The optocoupler isolates the field circuit and transmits the logic state to the PLC backplane bus. The CPU reads the ON/OFF status of each input channel and executes control logic accordingly. The LED indicator lights up to show the channel is active.

Applications

The KOYO U-08N is installed in DirectLOGIC 405 PLC racks for machine tools, conveyor lines, packaging machinery and factory automation skids. The KOYO U-08N is stocked as spare part for emergency replacement and scheduled maintenance of legacy Koyo DL405 control systems. It also supports I/O expansion and control cabinet upgrade projects.
