Overview

The POINT GREY GRAS-14S5C-C is a color CCD industrial camera belonging to the Grasshopper 2 series, equipped with IEEE1394b FireWire 800 high-speed interface. The POINT GREY GRAS-14S5C-C adopts Sony ICX267 CCD sensor with 1.4 megapixel resolution, supporting global shutter for high-speed object capture, pattern matching, dimension measurement and defect inspection for automated production lines. It is controlled by the dedicated FlyCapture SDK and software for exposure, gain, trigger and image acquisition configuration. The POINT GREY GRAS-14S5C-C is a discontinued legacy vision camera widely stocked as spare sensor for semiconductor, electronics and packaging inspection stations.

Features

The POINT GREY GRAS-14S5C-C delivers 1.4MP resolution and up to 30 fps frame rate under full resolution. It supports hardware trigger and software trigger modes, and carries programmable trigger delay, strobe output and ROI region readout for bandwidth optimization. The POINT GREY GRAS-14S5C-C uses C-mount lens interface and supports external GPIO for interlock with PLC and vision controllers. It carries compact metal housing and anti-vibration structure suitable for workshop vibration environment. The POINT GREY GRAS-14S5C-C is powered by FireWire bus or external 12V auxiliary power supply, and follows the original pin definition for direct replacement within the Grasshopper 2 GRAS series.

Principle

The POINT GREY GRAS-14S5C-C receives trigger signal from the vision controller or PLC. The CCD sensor captures the target image and transmits raw image data over IEEE1394b bus to the frame grabber or host PC. The image processing software runs configured inspection algorithms to realize positioning, measurement and defect judgment. The POINT GREY GRAS-14S5C-C continuously runs hardware self-check and reports trigger error, bus disconnection or sensor fault.

Applications

The POINT GREY GRAS-14S5C-C is used for visual inspection of connectors, plastic parts, PCB boards and packaging products in automated manufacturing workshops.
