Overview

The Keyence CV-5502 is a dual-camera vision controller belonging to the Keyence CV-5000 high-speed vision system. The Keyence CV-5502 supports connection of two color or monochrome cameras from the CV series, executing image capture, pattern matching, dimension measurement, presence detection and barcode reading for automated production lines. It exchanges judgment results and trigger signals with host PLCs via digital I/O and Ethernet communication. The Keyence CV-5502 is an obsolete original spare unit widely stocked for maintenance of semiconductor, electronics and packaging inspection stations.

Features

The Keyence CV-5502 supports multiple camera models including CV-200C, CV-H100C and CV-035C, covering pixel ranges from 240K up to 2 megapixels. It delivers high-speed image processing and includes built-in inspection tools for positioning, counting, defect detection and dimensional gauging. The Keyence CV-5502 is equipped with discrete I/O terminals and Ethernet port for signal interlock and data upload. It supports program storage, recipe switching and log recording via the dedicated CV-H1 software. The Keyence CV-5502 adopts DIN rail cabinet mounting and original connector definition for direct replacement in existing inspection racks.

Principle

The Keyence CV-5502 receives trigger signals from the production line. It sends capture commands to the connected cameras and acquires image data. The internal processor runs pre-configured inspection algorithms to analyze features, compare patterns and calculate measurement values. After inspection finishes, the Keyence CV-5502 outputs OK/NG judgment signals to the PLC and uploads images and result data to the upper monitoring system. It continuously runs hardware self-check and reports camera disconnection, communication error or internal fault.

Applications

The Keyence CV-5502 is used for visual inspection of PCB boards, connectors, plastic parts and packaging products in automated manufacturing workshops. It serves two-station synchronous inspection and high-speed pass/fail sorting control. The Keyence CV-5502 applies to spare stock and emergency repair of legacy Keyence CV-5000 vision inspection systems. It also supports vision station renovation and parameter backup projects.
