Overview

The DIGITEKNO KDC 610 is a compact intelligent road sign controller developed by Digitekno Finland, designed for variable message signs and traffic LED panels on highways, tunnels and urban roadways. The DIGITEKNO KDC 610 receives text, graphic and speed-limit commands from the central traffic control system, drives the LED display matrix and executes sign switching, brightness adjustment and fault monitoring. It supports serial and Ethernet communication interfaces and is widely used as spare replacement for roadside VMS sign cabinets.

Features

The DIGITEKNO KDC 610 supports local message storage, scheduled message switching and automatic brightness adjustment according to ambient light sensor input. It provides built-in diagnostic functions for LED pixel failure, power supply abnormality and communication timeout. The DIGITEKNO KDC 610 integrates surge protection and wide-range power input to adapt to harsh outdoor field conditions. It adopts DIN rail mounting structure and standard wiring terminal definition for direct drop-in replacement. The DIGITEKNO KDC 610 works with traffic management software for remote configuration, log reading and alarm uploading.

Principle

The DIGITEKNO KDC 610 receives message commands from the traffic control server via network or serial bus. It parses the graphic and text data, then generates driving signals to light up the corresponding LED pixels on the display panel. The controller reads the ambient light signal and adjusts LED brightness automatically to avoid glare at night. The DIGITEKNO KDC 610 continuously scans the LED circuit status. If pixel damage, cable break or communication loss is detected, it sends fault information back to the central traffic monitoring platform.

The DIGITEKNO KDC 610 is used for variable message sign control on highway and tunnel traffic systems. It serves speed limit warning, traffic congestion notice and temporary road condition information release.
