Description

MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 Acoustic Emission Grinding Monitoring Unit

Overview

The MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 is a cabinet type single-channel acoustic emission monitoring unit from Marposs P3SE series, specially designed for grinding machine process supervision. The MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 works with AE acoustic emission sensors to detect contact signals between grinding wheel, workpiece and dresser. It provides gap elimination, crash protection and dressing control functions to optimize grinding cycle time and protect expensive CBN grinding wheels. The MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 is backward compatible with the older Marposs E20N unit and can be used as direct spare replacement for existing grinder control cabinets.

Features

The MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 supports AE signal detection within 4 kHz to 1000 kHz frequency range with auto-setup bandwidth tuning. It integrates four logic channels for threshold setting and event output, and LED bar graph display for real-time signal level visualization. The MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 includes discrete relay outputs for crash alarm, dressing confirmation and gap skip control to interface with grinder PLC. It is equipped with RS232 serial port for parameter configuration and diagnostic data reading. The MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 adopts cabinet housing form and maintains the same logic interface definition as E20N for easy field upgrade without PLC program modification.

Specs

Device Type: Acoustic emission grinding monitoring unit Model: MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 Version: Cabinet type, single AE channel Sensing Principle: Acoustic emission AE Frequency Range: 4 kHz to 1000 kHz Logic Channels: 4 configurable logic channels Communication: RS232 Power Supply: 24 VDC Output: Discrete relay contact outputs Display: LED bar graph signal indicator Compatibility: Drop-in replacement for Marposs E20N Application: Cylindrical grinding, surface grinding, internal grinding, dressing control

Principle

The MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 receives ultrasonic acoustic emission signals captured by the AE sensor mounted on the grinding machine spindle or dresser. The internal circuit filters, amplifies and analyses the signal amplitude. When the grinding wheel touches the workpiece or dressing roll, the rising AE signal triggers the preset logic sequence. The unit sends switch signals to the machine controller to switch feed speed, stop fast approach or stop grinding to avoid collision. The MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 continuously monitors sensor cable health and reports fault status when sensor open or short circuit occurs.

Applications

The MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 is used for gap control and crash protection on precision grinding machines for automotive, bearing and aerospace components. It serves automatic dressing detection and cycle optimization for CBN wheel grinding processes. The MARPOSS P3SE 83028FA054 applies to spare stock and emergency repair of existing Marposs P3SE and E20N grinding monitoring systems. It also supports retrofit and upgrade projects for old CNC grinding equipment.
