Principle

B&R 8V1045.001-2 receives motion setpoints, cam data and synchronization commands from the B&R PLC over POWERLINK. The internal power stage converts DC bus voltage into high-frequency three-phase PWM output to drive the servo motor. Motor encoder signals feed back rotor angle and speed to the drive, forming high-speed closed control loops for position, speed and torque regulation. Regenerative energy during deceleration is consumed by the integrated braking resistor. The safe restart interlock prevents unintended startup after power reset.
