ABB 57520001-GZ/5 DSCA 180B

The 57520001-GZ/5 DSCA 180B is a Modbus communication processor module for ABB MasterPiece T200 and Advant OCS DCS system. This DSCA 180B acts as a protocol gateway, supporting Modbus RTU / ASCII master and slave mode to exchange data between the ABB control bus and third-party Modbus devices including transmitters, VFDs, PLCs and SCADA. The suffix /5 indicates hardware revision version.

This DSCA180B has onboard independent microprocessor to offload communication tasks from main controller, galvanic isolation on serial port to suppress ground loop noise. Front LED indicators show module run, bus communication and fault status. It is plugged into the MasterPiece rack, powered by rack backplane. Configuration and parameter setting are finished via ABB control engineering software, supporting mapping of Modbus registers to DCS internal tags. It can be deployed in simplex or redundant communication architectures.
