Converteam ICP232.2-5V

Description

Converteam ICP232.2-5V

The ICP232.2-5V is an encoder interface board originally developed by Alstom, later transferred under Converteam / GE Power Conversion, for PacDrive and MAX-4 servo drive systems. This ICP232.2-5V receives 5V differential TTL encoder signals (A, /A, B, /B, Z, /Z) from incremental encoders, supporting high-frequency position feedback up to 1 MHz for spindle synchronization, electronic cam and flying shear applications. The ICP232.2-5V provides long-distance differential signal transmission with strong anti-interference performance for high-precision motion control loops.

This ICP232.2-5V is a rack-mounted plug-in module with IP20 cabinet protection, designed to be inserted into the PacDrive controller backplane. It converts external encoder feedback into internal bus data for the motion controller, enabling multi-axis synchronization and master-follower tracking. The board includes signal monitoring and fault diagnosis for loss of encoder signal, short circuit and wiring error, with front status indicators for quick on-site troubleshooting. The suffix -5V defines the 5V differential signal standard for this variant.

The ICP232.2-5V is widely used on legacy packaging machinery, textile machines and printing presses equipped with ELAU PacDrive platforms. The PacDrive 3 / MAX-4 series including this ICP232.2-5V has been discontinued. Most available ICP232.2-5V units are tested surplus spare parts for retrofit and emergency replacement of old PacDrive motion control racks.
