GE 25DL-HP Panametrics High Penetration Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

GE 25DL-HP is a portable ultrasonic thickness gauge with high penetration capability. It measures wall thickness of difficult-to-test materials, widely used as maintenance spare part in petrochemical, power and composite material inspection fields.

Description

GE 25DL-HP belongs to Panametrics 25DL series high penetration ultrasonic thickness gauge, designed to perform thickness measurement on attenuative materials which cannot be easily detected by conventional thickness gauges, including cast metal, fiberglass, rubber and composite materials.
Adopting optimized low-frequency high penetration circuit technology, the instrument effectively suppresses ultrasonic signal attenuation inside coarse-grained and porous workpieces. It supports a broad measurable thickness range from 1 mm up to 500 mm depending on material characteristics. The built-in large-capacity data logger can store more than 5000 measurement readings with alphanumeric location tags for data review and export.
The unit is equipped with a clear digital display and intuitive operation keypad, supporting on-site parameter adjustment, real-time thickness reading, echo monitoring and built-in diagnostic functions. It matches a variety of single-element low-frequency ultrasonic transducers to satisfy different material and thickness testing requirements. Multiple measurement modes help operators identify back-wall echoes and eliminate interference from internal material defects.
Standard data communication interface enables connection with computers for data transmission, report generation and quality record archiving. Rugged portable housing structure is suitable for field inspection, pipeline survey and workshop non-destructive testing tasks. The equipment delivers stable measuring repeatability under varying ambient temperature conditions.
Typical application scenarios include casting inspection, vessel wall thickness monitoring, pipeline corrosion thickness testing, fiberglass equipment maintenance and composite component quality control in chemical plants, power stations, marine engineering and manufacturing industries.
This legacy thickness gauge model has been discontinued by the original manufacturer. Current available stock mainly serves equipment renewal, field replacement and spare backup for existing non-destructive testing laboratories. Original surplus units and fully tested refurbished instruments are supplied for on-site maintenance.
Before measurement, users need to select matched transducer and complete material velocity calibration. Proper coupling agent should be used between probe and workpiece surface to guarantee stable echo signal. Regular inspection of transducer cable and probe wear status is recommended. For new procurement projects, the latest generation Olympus / Panametrics ultrasonic thickness measuring equipment is recommended as upgraded alternative.
