GE UTXDR 4 MHz Panametrics Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flow Transducer
GE UTXDR 4 MHz is a clamp-on ultrasonic transducer for small pipelines. It works with Panametrics ultrasonic flowmeters, widely used as spare part for water treatment, power and petrochemical flow measurement systems.
Description
GE UTXDR 4 MHz belongs to GE Panametrics UTXDR series transit-time ultrasonic clamp-on transducer, operating at 4 MHz frequency. It is specially designed for small-diameter pipelines ranging from 0.5 inch to 2 inch (15–50 mm), perfectly matched with AT868, DF868, AT600 and other Panametrics liquid ultrasonic flow transmitters.
Adopting non-intrusive clamp-on installation method, the transducer does not require pipeline cutting, process shutdown or pressure loss during installation and retrofitting. It transmits and receives ultrasonic signals through pipe wall, calculating liquid flow velocity and volumetric flow rate via transit-time difference principle.
The transducer housing adopts robust industrial structure with IP65 / NEMA 4 weatherproof rating. Main structural materials include 316 stainless steel and high-strength engineering plastic. The applicable process medium temperature ranges from -20℃ to 60℃, suitable for clean acoustically conductive liquids such as circulating water, raw water and low-viscosity liquid mediums. Built-in shielding design suppresses external electromagnetic interference and guarantees stable ultrasonic signal transmission.
Matched adjustable clamping fixtures support rapid fixing on outer pipe surfaces. Complete transducer cable transmits weak echo signals between transducer and flowmeter main unit. Front-end acoustic component is precisely calibrated at factory to maintain consistent measuring sensitivity and repeatability.
This transducer is commonly deployed in municipal water supply, wastewater treatment plant, thermal power circulating water system, petrochemical small pipeline flow monitoring and industrial cooling water measurement projects. This legacy series has been phased out by the original manufacturer. Available inventory mainly serves equipment overhaul, on-site transducer replacement and spare backup of existing ultrasonic flow metering systems. Original surplus and fully tested refurbished transducers are supplied for field maintenance.
Before installation, users need to confirm pipe outer diameter, pipe material, liquid medium and matching flowmeter model. Select professional acoustic coupling grease and ensure sufficient contact between transducer and pipe surface. Avoid excessive bending or pulling of signal cables.
