Overview

The MITSUBISHI FX5-40SSC-S is a simple motion extension module for MELSEC iQ-F FX5 PLC series. It controls up to 4 servo axes via SSCNET III/H high-speed optical bus, compatible with MR-J4-B, MR-J5-B and MR-JE-B servo drives. It handles positioning, synchronization and cam control, widely stocked as spare for packaging, printing and rotary machinery.

Features This module supports linear interpolation (4 axes), 2-axis circular interpolation, S-curve / trapezoidal acceleration, electronic gear and backlash compensation. The FX5-40SSC-S provides advanced synchronous control, cam profile control and mark detection function. Positioning data is stored in flash memory without battery backup. Configuration, parameter setup and cam editing are completed with GX Works3.

Principle

The MITSUBISHI FX5-40SSC-S executes independent motion control tasks and exchanges cyclic commands and position feedback with servos over SSCNET III/H optical link. It receives trigger commands from the FX5 CPU and outputs motion profiles, while monitoring servo alarms, limit signals and bus communication status.

Applications
