ABB SACE PR121/P-LI Electronic Release

Overview

The ABB SACE PR121/P-LI is an electronic overcurrent release designed for ABB SACE Emax air circuit breakers. This SACE PR121/P-LI provides LI protection functions: long-time overload protection and instantaneous short-circuit protection. It monitors phase current continuously and triggers breaker tripping when current exceeds the configured threshold. It is widely used in power distribution skids, low-voltage switchgear, DCS and MCC feeder cabinets as a replaceable control accessory for Emax ACBs.

Principle

The ABB SACE PR121/P-LI samples the current signal from the breaker current transformers. When overload persists beyond the set time, the long-time protection trips the breaker. When a severe short-circuit occurs and the current rises above the instantaneous threshold, the release sends an immediate trip command to the operating mechanism.

Applications

The ABB SACE PR121/P-LI is deployed for overload and short-circuit protection of main incoming and outgoing feeders in distribution skids, industrial plants and low-voltage switchgear rooms. The SACE PR121/P-LI is stocked as spare replacement for Emax air circuit breaker protection units.
